The Run4It Christmas Elves have been writing their letters to Santa, trying to convince him that they have been good all year. They have picked out some of their favourites amongst the fantastic Christmas Gift Guide offers, and we wanted to share it on to inspire you for your runner this Christmas… and if you are a runner, just share this link with them and say “just leaving this here for you” – That should do the trick!
Zak from Bridge of Allan
Our Bridge of Allan Elf Zak is being a good boy for Santa with the hope to get the Ronhill Vizion Windlite Jacket and matching Vizion Contour Tight for himself. The bright reds and yellows along with the high visibility strips would mean he would be seen in even the harshest of weathers. The garments also provide more than enough protection against the elements while sustaining their light weighted nature, allowing for as little as one base layer to be worn under the jacket. Finally as with most Ronhill products, the windlite jacket provide a vision LED point that could be switched out for a whole range of colours.
John from Dundee
Our Elf John from Dundee loves the Ronhill Vizion Backpack. The bag is handy, with accessible storage pockets down the sides that make it easy for him to carry his nutrition. With pop in lights and reflective material, the bag keeps him nice and visible, especially over the winter months running along the roads. With more and more winter showers, the water resident fabric and zips mean that his belongings are kept safe and dry. This backpack is perfect for commuting to and from the gym and work, with plenty of storage space for spare clothing and personal belongings. Even with a full load the bag is extremely comfortable, as the straps on the bag are well cushioned, meaning there is no chaffing during his longer runs. Thumbs up from John!
Carl from Glasgow Tiso
Carl our Elf from Glasgow Tiso loves Feetures Socks. He loves the choice, with light weight, or toasty warm, if you choose the merino wool version. Feetures have such a great range of colours and multiple lengths, including below the ankle and anklet choices, that will suit every runner’s need and taste. The only problem that he is going to have with the 3 for 2 feetures offer is how many does he keep for himself and how many does he give to his running family as gifts this Christmas. Maybe if he asks Santa, he will get 3 pairs all for himself!
William and Stuart from Aberdeen
We have a few Aberdonian Elves… William says “Christmas and electronics are a notorious combination, not only for children and the latest computer trends but for runners as well! Top of my list to Santa this year has got to be the new Garmin Forerunner 235! Garmin have jammed in almost everything you can think of to this device. Newly designed optical HR monitor, VO2 max and race predictor, activity and sleep tracker all into the sleek profile watch with a screen that is 44% larger! The luxury of not wearing a heart rate strap will be useful after overindulging over the holidays and the new graphical interface is a fantastic addition. If you can’t bear to part with your Christmas music on that Boxing Day run, not to worry. The 235 has built in audio controls and prompts along with smart notifications when paired with your phone. All in all, this makes the new Forerunner 235 a fantastic gift this Christmas and a great way to monitor your training for the New Year and your next PB.”
Stuart the Elf has this in mind. “The Christmas period is always cold and wet, so why make things hard for yourself? Gore Running Wear have a great range of fully waterproof jackets for this time of the year. I will be training hard over the winter for my spring 2016 races and I could not do it without this essential piece of kit. The water literally falls off the jacket! While being waterproof Gore have also been able to make this range of jackets breathable as well, without compromising on its waterproofing. If you want a fantastic fitting, comfortable, waterproof jacket this winter, look no further than Gore Running Wear.”
Graham from Inverness
Our Inverness Elf Graham thinks the Petzl Tikka R plus head torch is great. He would like this headtorch as a Christmas gift because it fits well around the head and does not irritate him the way others do – this he knows from extensive workshop testing!
The powerful beam is ideal for really dark locations and will serve him well. With the Reactive Lighting Sensor working in the twilight conditions is a bonus because battery life is used efficiently. Charging the unit cannot be simpler – just plug in and leave it to charge. The price is great – it’s powerful – convenient – comfortable and suits my needs – The perfect Christmas Present for this little Elf!
Donna from Giffnock
And from our newest Elves in our brand new shop in Giffnock, Donna has also written to Santa to tell him what she is getting for others. “This year I am going to buy a few of the Nathan Pulsar strobe lights for a few family members as we have an amazing 2 for £10 deal on and these will make for great stocking fillers.
My partner cycles to and from work so being able to attach these to his helmet and backpack will allow him to increase his visibility and safety. The light has three different modes so are great for varying activities such as cani-cross. My sister loves running with her dog and does various park runs but now it is dark around teatime, her white fluffy Maltese dog can get lost in the dark once he’s covered in mud so getting one of these lights to place on his collar will allow her to keep an eye on him.
The strobes are easy to attach and stay in place and are not heavy so you don’t feel like they are pulling on the item you have on. There is 2400 ft. LED visibility from the strobe and they can last up to 30 hours. The strobes are also water resistant so can withstand the lovely Scottish weather.
So as you can see, our elves have their lists all planned out, for what they would like, and what they want to give! But if you need some further inspiration, take a look at our full Christmas Gift Guide here.
