Dundee’s Running Adventure Marathon…
The DRAM and Half DRAM are probably the biggest races in Dundee, both starting beside the great house in Camperdown Park. The Half DRAM, ran over half marathon distance is particularly popular, attracting up to 1000 runners and boasting a promenade finish in Broughty Ferry.
New for this year, the DRAM full marathon carries on past this finish area, following the coastal path into Dundee, past the new V&A museum and the HMS Discovery, to a turnaround point at the Bridgeview Station Restaurant on the Dundee waterfront, and then returning back to the finish area at Broughty Ferry.
The Half DRAM course takes in some really unexpected pathways, keeping runners away from the bustle of the main city and this one of the real gems of this race!
It winds upwards through Camperdown Park, then up through the picturesque Templeton woods, emerging briefly into a housing area, before ducking back onto the Dundee green route. This takes the runners out through some lovely unexpected pathways before popping out onto the Arbroath Rd for a short spell, then a welcome long downhill section onto the sands at “The Ferry”.
Both races attract entries from near and far and with Dundee’s rising popularity as a tourist destination, these events are only going to get bigger!
Fancy an adventure?
